Who we are
Sirena Studio was founded in 2016 by Sadie Adair. Previously Farfesha Studios, our space contains almost 20 years worth of dance history and community that Sadie is honored to preserve and continue for our students.
Sirena is Albuquerque's premier school of Raqs Sharqi (belly dance) with Award winning instructors, all waiting to help you fall in love with this beautiful art form. We truly believe that this dance form is for everyone and we look forward to helping you start your belly dancing journey. |

We can't wait to meet you!
Sadie AdairOwner, Manager, Instructor
Sadie took her first belly dance class when she was 13 years old. She had always dreamed of being a dancer but didn’t think she had the right body type for it, nor the experience of ballet classes since *insert toddler age*. Discovering belly dancers who were all different ages and sizes reawakened her dance dreams, and she is forever grateful.
Whether it is Raqs Sharqi or Fusion Belly Dance, Sadie loves the music, the way the moves feel on her body, and of course, the costumes! Belly dancing makes her feel confident, beautiful, and strong. The community she gets to dance with is also a plus! When Sadie isn’t dancing, she is running Sirena Studio (this takes up most of her time), traveling (mostly to Oregon or Mexico), reading a book in her backyard, making weird movies, playing with her dog (Ewok), or enjoying a beer with family and friends. |
Lorena Martinez BurrInstructor
Lorena has been dancing since 2010. She fell in love with belly dance because of the beautiful culture and community that surrounds it, and the connection it has with the music. Lorena is mostly known for her theatrical (usually humorous) expressions, balancing swords or pots while she dances, and pushing the limits with technique and musical interpretation. She loves nature (hiking, camping, gardening, etc.), all things spooky & macabre, and of course hanging out with her pets & loved ones!

Adriana SandovalInstructor
Adriana has been dancing a total of 26 years between 3 main styles: Mexican Folklórico (9 years), Flamenco (5 years) and Middle Eastern dance (currently 12 years and going). What Adriana loves most about Middle Eastern music and dance is the wide range of rhythms, styles and emotions it conveys. Adriana loves that Middle Eastern dance stems from social, folk dancing for anyone to dance and enjoy at events such as birthdays, weddings and other celebrations but also can be part of a professional stage production with rehearsed choreographies.
Adriana is most known for dancing raqs sharqi style and Egyptian folk dance styles. When Adriana isn’t dancing she loves spending time with her family including her husband, Adrian and two sons, Tomás and Gabriel. She also loves teaching her 3rd grade bilingual students as she’s been teaching in Albuquerque Public Schools since 2003. She also enjoys cooking family meals! |
Ally LowryInstructor
Ally has been dancing in one form or another for almost her whole life, but was first introduced to belly dance in her early teens and began studying the dance form in earnest at age 15. Once she started dancing, it was impossible to stop her!
What Ally loves most about belly dance is that it offers a freedom of expression which is unrivaled in any other dance form. It has the strength of both a rich cultural tradition as well as allowing room for personal artistic exploration into the weird, theatrical, and vulnerable. There is so much variety and depth to the dance form that it is impossible to be done learning and growing. Ally is best known for fusion style of belly dance, including her most recent exploration into jazz/swing fusion, as well as her focus on strong technique. Along with all of the Desert Darlings, she has a love of theatrical dance and is passionate about character development and storytelling through movement. When Ally is not dancing, she loves to travel and explore new places at any opportunity, or spend time enjoying live, local music, or being a homebody and either baking, crafting, or snuggling with her pets! |
Alexandra PadillaYoga Instructor
Alex has been doing yoga for 7 years and teaching for 5 years. She loves all the physical, mental, and energetic benefits that yoga gives her. Yoga helps with her everyday pains and aches. It helps improve her mental health through mindfulness and helps her have more energy to do work and other tasks. Yoga has also really helped Alex in her dance practice to build strength, flexibility and move safely and mindfully. Her focus in class is the connection of breath and movement with an emphasis on alignment. She is known for making all her classes challenging but accessible! When she is not teaching or doing yoga, she is dancing, hiking, or cuddling her pets.
